EASA published European Plan for Aviation safety 2020-2024 on 20-Jan-20

This document reflects where the regulations may go in the coming year.

An important part pertaining to our field of expertise is airworthiness and continuing airworthiness . Chapter 10 of the document is dedicated to this matter. It also covers future regulations pertaining to electric and hybrid propulsion of aircraft.

Some subjects covered: higher altitude airspace (space) vehicles envisioned to be commercially operated, tilt rotor aircraft, Lower airspace unmanned air systems.

There are 51 items pertaining to airworthiness and maintenance in the document so a lively period of amended and new regulations van be expected in the coming years.

20-JAN-2020, EASA published the new EPAS. This document is interesting as it contains a look into the future of EASA rule making. The area of initial and continuing airworthiness forms an important part of the document. Chapter 9 and 10 of the document cover the airworthiness issue that will be subject to change in the coming 4 years.
Subjects like Class D cargo compartment fire protection, HP rotor integrity, AMC-20 update, airworthiness review processes and technical records requirements are expected to be updated. The document contains NPA numbers and organisations are encouraged to consult the document in order to be prepared for the future
