Already some months ago, (June 2020) EASA and Japan signed the TIP (Technical Implementation Procedures) for mutually agreed on, acceptance of Airworthiness Data. This cooperation started with the certification of the BK-117 twin engine helicopter that was produced in Japan many years back. Nowadays the Type Certificate Holder for this type helicopter is Airbus Helicopters based in Donauwörth, Germany.

Nevertheless, development of the TIP was important as there is a significant flow of certified components between EU and Japan in the Aerospace Industry.

The TIP can be very helpful with importing used aircraft or components between EU countries and Japan.

Attached the document for review.
